What Makes a Strong Roofer in Bountiful

Bountiful sits against the Wasatch Front, so roofs take sun in summer and heavy snow in winter. Freeze and thaw cycles work on flashing, valleys, and vents. Hail and wind show up often enough that a roof that looked fine last year can fail after one storm.

The best roofing companies in Bountiful start with a real look at the roof, not a sales script. They check shingles, underlayment, drip edge, pipe boots, and attic airflow. What sits under the shingles matters as much as the color you see from the street. They explain what can wait and what cannot. They use crews that clean nails and debris before they leave. They carry licenses and insurance. They put workmanship in writing.

Small roof problems in Utah rarely stay small on a bench lot. A cracked boot or open flashing can soak decking before the stain shows on a ceiling. A free roof inspection with minor caulking is how many homeowners learn whether they need a patch or a full system. The same standard shows up in nearby Davis County work, from Centerville roofing projects to Woods Cross roofing projects and Farmington roofing projects. A roofing guide that covers layers, weather, and maintenance helps you read a bid with clearer eyes.

How to Compare Local Roofing Teams

Ask who will be on your roof. Some firms send their own people. Others lean on crews you never meet. Ask how they document damage. Photo reports help with insurance and with your own records. Ask about gutters, soffit, and fascia. Water that leaves the roof still has to leave the house.

Talk about ventilation and edge metal. Hot attics cook shingles from below. Poor airflow also feeds ice dams in winter. Ask how they handle ice barrier in valleys and at eaves. That layer matters on Bountiful hillsides where snow sits and then melts.

Watch the paperwork. Roofing warranties should name labor and materials in plain language. A warranty inspection for defective shingles is a different visit than a storm check, and a good bid says which one you are getting. Look at finished work, not only promises. A Landmark roof in Kaysville, a porch roof in Centerville, and a flashing and chimney repair in Centerville show how crews treat edges, penetrations, and cleanup. Our work across Davis County is a fair way to judge whether the install looks like the scope on paper.

2. CTI Roofing

CTI Roofing is a Bountiful contractor that has served Northern Utah homes since the early 2000s. The office is in Bountiful, so Davis County jobs sit in the company’s backyard. Work centers on repair, replacement, inspections, and storm damage. The company is known for telling homeowners when a patch is enough instead of pushing a full tear-off on every visit. Many visits include a digital walk-through so you see the same worn boots, lifted tabs, and soft deck spots the inspector sees. Insurance paperwork after wind or hail is a large part of the day-to-day work. Strengths include a true Bountiful address, long local volume, and a CertainTeed-focused shingle program. The core offer stays roofing. If you want one contractor for a roof plus a kitchen or basement remodel, you will likely add a second company. Response after a storm is a common reason neighbors call.

  • Key features: shingle repair and replacement, storm and hail work, video-style inspections, insurance claim support
  • Facts and information: Headquartered in Bountiful, Utah. Serves Davis, Salt Lake, and Weber counties. CertainTeed ShingleMaster contractor with many years of residential installs across Northern Utah

3. Legacy Roofing

Legacy Roofing is a Utah-owned shop that lists Bountiful among its regular Davis County stops and keeps a local Bountiful presence along with a Clearfield headquarters. The company focuses on GAF-certified asphalt systems, repairs, ventilation fixes, storm restoration, and claim coordination. Crews are described as W-2 employees rather than day labor. That matters if you want the same faces from tear-off to final magnet sweep. The company also talks about Tesla solar roof work for homeowners who want power generation built into the roof plane. Strengths include manufacturer certification, line-item estimates, and coverage from historic Main Street homes to east-bench properties with steeper pitches. The company is younger than some multi-decade Davis County names, so the brand history is shorter even when the install process is structured. Scope stays roofing and related exterior systems, not full-home construction.

  • Key features: GAF-certified replacement, targeted repair, ventilation correction, storm restoration, solar roof options
  • Facts and information: Utah owned, with Bountiful and Clearfield locations. Serves Davis, Weber, and Salt Lake counties. Positions GAF Master Elite access as a path to stronger manufacturer warranties

4. Bob Harvey Roofing

Bob Harvey Roofing is a family-owned Northern Utah company that has worked Davis County roofs since 1988. Bountiful and West Bountiful sit inside the regular service area, including older east-bench homes that catch more wind and snow. The company treats a roof as a system, not a stack of shingles. Assessments cover deck, ventilation, flashing, and drainage before a bid goes out. Crews are hired and trained in-house. The shop holds CertainTeed ShingleMaster Premier Contractor status, which is a high manufacturer tier. Strengths include nearly four decades in the same counties, no-subcontractor messaging, and a calm inspection style. The company is based in the Layton corridor rather than Bountiful proper, so scheduling still depends on the Davis County calendar. Remodeling beyond the roof is not the main product. Homeowners who want a long-tenured Davis County name often put this shop on the short list.

  • Key features: residential shingle systems, flat and low-slope work, repairs, free assessments, in-house crews
  • Facts and information: Family-owned since 1988 in Northern Utah. Serves Davis, Weber, and Morgan counties. CertainTeed ShingleMaster Premier Contractor with many completed Bountiful projects

5. Lloyd’s Quality Roofing

Lloyd’s Quality Roofing is a West Bountiful contractor with an address on North 650 West, so the drive to most Bountiful streets is short. The company has been roofing Northern Utah homes for decades and handles installation, repair, wind and hail work, and full reroofs. Owners James and Nicole are often named in homeowner notes, which is useful if you want a small shop where the people who bid the job stay involved. Strengths include a true West Bountiful base, long local relationships, and a mix of repair and replacement. The company is licensed, certified, and insured. Capacity can feel tighter than a large regional crew during a hail week, which is common for owner-run shops. The offer is roofing first. If your project includes siding, windows, and a new kitchen under one contract, you may still need a second trade. For a Bountiful leak or reroof, the local footprint is the draw.

  • Key features: professional installation, repair, wind and hail restoration, full reroofs, local owner contact
  • Facts and information: Based in West Bountiful, Utah. Serves Bountiful and neighboring Northern Utah cities. Multi-decade local contractor with realtor and repeat-homeowner referrals

6. Ron Case Roofing & Asphalt Paving

Ron Case Roofing & Asphalt Paving is one of the oldest family-owned roofing names still working the Salt Lake valley and Davis County. The company has been in business since 1969 and handles residential and commercial roofs plus paving. Roof work includes asphalt shingles, flat and single-ply systems, metal repair, tile and shake repair, gutters, flashing, and custom sheet metal. Free storm inspections are part of the pitch after wind events. Strengths include tenure, a wide material list, and crews used to both steep homes and low-slope additions. Because paving sits beside roofing, the brand is a general outdoor contractor as much as a pure roof shop. That breadth helps some property owners and feels less focused to others who only want a shingle specialist. Bountiful jobs are served from the Salt Lake City side of the metro, so travel time is part of scheduling.

  • Key features: shingle and flat systems, storm repair, gutters, sheet metal, heat cables, snow removal on some accounts
  • Facts and information: Salt Lake City, Utah base. In business since 1969. Serves Bountiful and the greater Wasatch Front with residential, commercial, and industrial work

7. MAD Roofing

MAD Roofing is a Draper and South Jordan company founded by Matt and Andrew Luikart. The shop serves Salt Lake City and surrounding cities, including Bountiful, with residential and commercial roofing, metal work, gutters, and solar-adjacent installs. The process leans on photo reports, color samples, and help talking with an insurance adjuster. Homeowners often mention one-day installs on standard shingle roofs and a tidy site at the end of the day. Strengths include communication on materials and a review-heavy digital presence. The company is newer than multi-generation Davis County shops, with a founding date in the early 2020s. That can mean a polished sales process and a shorter local memory. Crews travel north from the south valley, so Bountiful is inside the radius but not the home office. Ask who will run the job day and how decking surprises are written into the contract.

  • Key features: asphalt and metal roofing, gutters, photo inspections, insurance documentation, warranty-backed systems
  • Facts and information: Offices in Draper and South Jordan, Utah. Serves Bountiful as part of the Wasatch Front radius. BBB accredited with a strong review profile on major homeowner platforms

8. IWC Roofing Utah

IWC Roofing Utah markets Owens Corning Platinum Certified replacement, repair, and installation for Bountiful and the rest of Davis County. The company points to more than 25 years of experience and a large five-star review base. Bountiful’s mix of mid-century east-bench homes and newer west-side construction is called out on the city’s service page, along with steep pitches and snow load on hillside lots. Instant estimate tools and premium shingle lines are part of the pitch. Strengths include manufacturer certification and statewide coverage across many Utah counties. A large service map can be a plus for warranty consistency and a minus if you want a crew that only works Davis County streets. Confirm who inspects the roof in person and whether ventilation and ice barrier are specified for your pitch and exposure. The brand is a strong regional option for homeowners who want an Owens Corning system.

  • Key features: Owens Corning Platinum certified replacement, repair, installation, instant estimates
  • Facts and information: Serves Bountiful ZIP codes 84010 and 84011 plus a wide Utah footprint. Positions itself among a small group of Platinum certified contractors in the state

9. JM Roofing Solutions

JM Roofing Solutions is based in nearby Centerville and treats Bountiful as a core neighborhood, not a far edge of the map. Owner Justino and the crew handle roofing, siding, and gutters with a family-style visit at the job site. The company talks about wind, heat, and cold along the Wasatch Front and about maintenance after the install. Strengths include a short drive from Centerville, a personal owner presence, and exterior work beyond shingles. That helps when a reroof should line up with new gutters or siding. The shop is smaller than statewide brands, so calendar space after a county-wide hail day can fill fast. Commercial scale and complex low-slope membranes may sit outside the sweet spot. For a Bountiful or Centerville home that needs a careful residential crew, the local base is the main reason to request a visit.

  • Key features: residential roofing, siding, gutters, repairs, maintenance, in-home estimates
  • Facts and information: Centerville, Utah base serving Bountiful, Ogden, Salt Lake City, Layton, and nearby cities. Owner-led crews with a community-focused service model

10. BigHorn Roofing

BigHorn Roofing is a Midvale family company that publishes a dedicated Bountiful service page for new installs, repairs, and gutters. The pitch covers Wasatch weather, from winter snow to summer sun, and includes seamless gutters without joints that clog. Online estimates are offered so a homeowner can start without a long wait for a first visit. Product and labor warranties are part of the public promise, along with siding and window work on some projects. Strengths include a clear Bountiful page, itemized bids, and follow-up inspections after the install. The office is in Midvale, so Davis County jobs compete with Salt Lake County volume. The company has operated for more than 20 years along the Wasatch Front and Wasatch Back. Ask how snow retention, ventilation, and ice barrier are handled on east-bench pitches before you compare scopes.

  • Key features: new roof installation, repair, seamless gutters, siding and window add-on work, online estimates
  • Facts and information: Midvale, Utah headquarters. Family-owned with more than 20 years in the region. Serves Bountiful with published material and workmanship warranty language

11. Roof Utah

Roof Utah lists Bountiful as a primary city and covers inspections, leak repair, new construction roofs, layovers, replacement, emergency repair, restoration, maintenance, and snow removal. Materials on the city page include asphalt, tile, metal, and flat or low-slope systems. The company frames tear-off and install as a process that should stay orderly, with the home protected while old layers come off. Strengths include a wide service menu and a Bountiful-specific page for 84010 and 84011. Layovers are listed, which some homeowners like for speed and others skip because a second layer can hide deck problems. Confirm whether your job is a full tear-off. The brand is a regional “Roof Utah” identity rather than a single-street Bountiful shop, so ask where the crew is based the week of your install and who owns the final walk-through.

  • Key features: inspections, leak repair, replacement, emergency repair, tile and metal, flat roofs, snow removal
  • Facts and information: Serves Bountiful ZIP codes 84010 and 84011. Public service list covers steep and low-slope residential work along the northern Salt Lake corridor

12. J & R Roofing

J & R Roofing presents itself as a Wasatch Front contractor for Bountiful residential and commercial roofs, with more than two decades in the trade. Services include asphalt shingles, metal systems, commercial work, storm restoration, and repairs of many sizes. The company talks about Utah weather in plain terms and about reaching a property quickly after wind damage. Strengths include a mixed residential and commercial menu and storm response language. Bountiful is called out as a core city rather than a footnote. As with other regional shops, confirm whether the estimator and the install lead are the same person and how change orders for bad decking are written. Metal and commercial membranes need different details than a standard architectural shingle roof, so the written spec should name underlayment, fasteners, and edge metal. The company is a practical mid-size option for homeowners who want both repair and replacement under one name.

  • Key features: asphalt shingle roofing, metal systems, commercial roofing, wind and storm restoration, repairs
  • Facts and information: Serves Bountiful and surrounding Wasatch Front communities. More than 22 years in roofing with residential and commercial scopes

13. RoofnUT

RoofnUT is a family-owned Northern Utah roofer founded in 2003. Davis County, including Bountiful, sits on the published city list next to Salt Lake, Utah, Weber, Summit, and Tooele counties. Services are grouped as replacement, repair, and rejuvenation for roofs that still have life left. The company works with homeowners insurance, offers financing language, and stresses clean job sites and a pay-when-satisfied stance. Strengths include a long founding date, a clear three-path offer, and explicit Bountiful coverage. Rejuvenation is not a fit for every roof. Hail-bruised shingles and wet decking still need repair or replacement. Ask for an on-roof inspection before anyone talks about coatings or restoration. Crews cover a wide map, so schedule tightness after a regional storm is worth a direct question. For a Bountiful homeowner who wants options beyond “tear it all off,” the three-service model is the point of the first visit.

  • Key features: replacement, repair, roof rejuvenation on eligible systems, insurance help, clean-site process
  • Facts and information: Founded in 2003. Serves Bountiful and other Davis County cities as part of a Northern Utah service list. Licensed and insured with financing options described on the site

14. Utah Roof Consulting

Utah Roof Consulting is an owner-led practice built around Andrew, who answers the phone and brings more than 20 years of field time to Bountiful and Davis County. The company handles metal, shingle, repairs, ventilation, and what it calls cold-roof detailing for snow country. The pitch is the opposite of a large sales floor. You talk to the person who will own the advice. Strengths include direct access, a small-review but high-rating profile, and a focus on ventilation that many bid-only shops skip. Capacity is the tradeoff. A one-principal model can book out when storms hit the bench. Commercial volume and multi-building campuses are not the core. For a homeowner who wants a knowledgeable local voice on metal versus shingle, attic airflow, and a repair-versus-replace call, this is a specialist shop rather than a high-volume installer.

  • Key features: metal and shingle work, repairs, ventilation upgrades, cold-roof detailing, owner-direct consults
  • Facts and information: Serves Bountiful, Ogden, Layton, Clinton, and Salt Lake City. Owner-operated model with a published 5.0 review set and a Davis County focus

Weather and Roof Life on the Wasatch Front

Bountiful roofs live in a hard climate. Summer sun bakes dark shingles. Winter snow loads valleys and north faces. Wind slides over the bench and lifts aging tabs. That is why material choice and color matter as much as labor. Lighter colors can run cooler in July. Darker colors hide pine debris but hold more heat.

Heat is a quiet roof killer along the Front. Heat and shingle longevity explains why a south or west plane can age faster than a shaded north slope. Cool roofs for hot Utah summers point to materials and colors that reflect more sun. Asphalt vs. metal roofing in Utah is the usual fork for Bountiful homeowners. A standing seam metal roof with truss repair shows when structure and panel work travel together. Metal roof installation is a fit on steep pitches that shed snow, while architectural shingles still match many ranch and two-story streets.

Water at the eave is the other half of the story. Summer gutter maintenance keeps downspouts ready before monsoon bursts and fall leaves. Ice dams start when heat leaks into the attic, snow melts, and water refreezes at the drip edge. Vent the attic. Seal can lights. Keep the drainage path open so a good shingle job is not undone by a clogged trough.

Permits, Insurance, and a Clean Scope of Work

Major reroofs in Utah usually need a permit. The point is safety and a record that the work met code for snow, wind, and fastening. Inspectors look at the ice barrier, ventilation, and drip edge, not only the color of the shingle. A new roof installation in Layton and a new roof installation in Salt Lake City follow the same idea: tear-off, deck check, underlayment, then the finish layer.

Insurance claims after hail or wind work best when the contractor photographs every plane, marks soft decking, and writes a line-item scope. You stay the policyholder. The contractor documents. You approve. Hail damage on a TPO membrane roof and a roof recovery after hail are different repairs than a steep shingle tear-off, so the scope should say which system is on the house. When the roof is open to weather, an emergency tarp on a damaged roof buys time before decking swells.

A clean contract lists tear-off layers, underlayment brand, shingle or panel type, flashing replacement, ventilation parts, dump fees, and nail-sweep method. It names who pulls the permit. It names warranty terms for labor and materials. Details such as a stronger chimney cap or replacing a skylight on an asphalt roof belong in that list when the house has those penetrations. If the house needs a small leak fix only, an honest shop says so. If the deck is soft, they show you why a patch would fail.

Use this quick check before you hire:

  • License and insurance current for the work described
  • Written scope with materials named
  • Who does the labor, in-house or subcontracted
  • How the site will be protected and cleaned
  • How storm or hidden deck damage will be handled if it appears after tear-off

FAQ

What should I ask the best Bountiful roofing companies before I hire?

Ask who will work on the roof and whether that crew is in-house. Ask how damage is documented, including photos of shingles, flashing, pipe boots, and the deck. Ask what underlayment, ice and water shield, drip edge, and ventilation are included in the written scope. Ask who pulls the permit and how hidden deck damage is handled after tear-off. Local roofing services should be spelled out in that same conversation so labor and materials are clear before anyone starts tear-off.

How often does a Bountiful home need a roof inspection?

A yearly look is a solid baseline for Davis County homes, with another check after hard wind, hail, or a heavy snow year. Granule piles in gutters, cracked boots, lifted flashing, and attic stains are early clues that water is finding a path in. After a storm, a prompt visit can stop a small leak from soaking insulation and drywall. Photo notes from that visit also help if you later talk with your insurer. Emergency roof repair after a storm in Utah is often the first honest read on whether the roof needs a patch or a full system.

Is metal or asphalt a better fit for Bountiful?

Both can work on a Bountiful roof when the system matches the pitch, trees, and how the house is used. Asphalt fits many neighborhood styles and is simpler to patch in small areas when a few tabs lift. Metal sheds snow and takes summer sun well when underlayment, clips, edge metal, and snow retention are planned for the bench. HOA rules and the look of nearby homes often decide the choice as much as weather. Comparing metal and asphalt shingles for Utah weather is the usual fork for homes that face heat on one plane and snow load on another.

Can one contractor handle a roof and other exterior work?

Yes, some local teams keep roofing, gutters, ventilation, soffit, fascia, and related remodeling under one contract. That helps when a leak points to a wall, a swamp cooler, or an addition with a low-slope plane. One project lead from inspection to final nail sweep also reduces gaps between trades. The written scope should still name each task so roof work does not get lost beside other jobs. Kitchen remodeling is one example of interior work that can share a schedule with a new roof when the same contractor already knows the house.

Why do Bountiful roofs need extra care with snow, sun, and wind?

Bountiful sits on the Wasatch Front, so roofs cycle from hot, dry summers to snow that sits in valleys and on north faces. Wind along the bench lifts aging tabs, and freeze-thaw movement works on flashing and vents. Color and ventilation change how much heat the attic holds, which is why a dark south plane can age faster than a shaded north slope. Ice dams form when warm air hits the underside of the roof and meltwater refreezes at the eave, so ice barrier and airflow matter as much as the shingle itself. Choosing the right roofing color for a Utah home is part of that weather story, not only curb appeal.

Lance provided a timely inspection, estimate and installation of a shingle roof for my residence. All vents were inspected, sealed and painted to match standard roof color, turtle vents were replaced. Lance always responded quickly to answer my questions and concern. The roofers worked professionally to install and clean up upon completion. The roofers were neat, courteous and respectful. Lance provided a next day work quality inspection. I recommend Eagle Ridge for your roofing needs.

Do not use EagleRidge roofing. They replaced our roof and now it's leaking. It did thousands of dollars in damages and they are refusing to pay to fix it. We got a second roofers opinion and he verified it was their fault. His quote was cheap but now we are going to have to pay to fix it because they won't take accountability.

Lance and the team at Eagle Ridge did a great job installing a brand new metal roof for us. They also beat the other estimates we had. Despite some delays from the metal manufacturer, they had the roof underlayment on and sealed almost instantly so the framing could stay dry and they made sure that we were taken care of. The quality of work is top-notch and the roof has turned out amazing. Highly recommend!

I called Lance to inquire about my roof. Lance met with me the same day and look at it. I later reached out to have him do the work on a Sunday and he started work the following day. My roof was completed in two days! The workers did a great job and my roof looks amazing. Lance is super easy to get ahold of and does what he says he will do. I reached out to a different roofing company and was told they would come out and they never did. Several phone calls with no follow up. Lance was completely opposite of that. If you want complete transparency and a roof done right, you need to do business with him. Great guy!

I highly recommend EagleRidge roofing. First of all it’s a small company and the owner himself shows up for inspection and estimate so you know they don’t have the normal sales pitch you get like with other roofing companies, anyway Lance Raven the owner looked and fully inspected my roof and this is what i appreciate, not only his bid was the least expensive but he told me honestly I don’t need a new roof quite yet as I still have several years left and don’t need to rush for a new roof. I highly recommend Lance because of his honestly, and Integrity , he also does other projects and construction. We will use them to redo my roof when time comes.
