Another major transformation completed by the EagleRidge Roofing & Construction team, this time on a low-slope residential roof in Clinton, Utah.
This home had been dealing with serious roof weight and deterioration issues caused by multiple layers of aging shingles, five in total. Excess weight like this can lead to structural strain and poor insulation performance, especially on low-slope roof systems where water doesn’t shed as quickly.
What We Did
To properly restore the roof’s function and safety, our crew first performed a full tear-off, removing all five layers of existing shingles and underlayment. Once the roof deck was exposed, we installed:
- New OSB sheathing for a strong structural base
- Fan fold insulation board to increase thermal efficiency
- A new 50-mil TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) membrane for long-term waterproof protection
TPO is an excellent choice for low-slope roofs — it’s energy-efficient, UV-reflective, and resistant to cracking, ponding, and extreme temperatures. This white, reflective surface will help reduce heat absorption and improve interior comfort during Utah’s hotter months.
